The quartet -- Lydia Demi-Smith, violin; Karmen Mitchell, violin; Sabrina Romney, viola; and Jennifer Crum, cello -- performs Mozart's Quartet no. 20 in D major, K. 499, one of his late masterpieces highlighting all of the instruments; Bartok's Quartet no. 1, an early work in which he begins to use the folk melodies of Eastern Europe while finding his own special voice; and Brahms' Quartet in A minor, Op. 51, no. 2, a melodic and rhythmic work, full of beautiful melodies and energy.
