Promises of a New Day

In celebration of springtime, we explore the music of newness, rebirth, and revolution! The Symphonic Band, directed by Jayme Taylor, performs a concert featuring Of Our New Day Begun by Omar Thomas based on the song Lift Every Voice and Sing, Chester by William Schuman based on the American revolutionary war song by William Billings, and the beautiful celebration of spring through Japanese folksongs in Yasuhide Ito’s Festal Scenes.
